Beach Cities Health District's (BCHD) LiveWell Tots program is a comprehensive obesity prevention program developed specifically for pre-school aged children.
Through nutrition education lessons incorporating mindfulness-based learning and activities, hundreds of Beach Cities preschoolers are improving their overall health and well-being.
The primary goals of the LiveWell Tots Program include, educating preschoolers on nutrition and mindful eating, increasing healthy eating behaviors and positively impacting both teachers’ and parents’ self-efficacy to instill healthy eating behaviors in their students. The program accomplishes this by training pre-school teachers to deliver 30-minute nutrition lessons in the classroom, focusing on food groups, healthy eating behaviors and mindfulness.
