WorkWell to LiveWell
Beach Cities Health District’s Employee Wellness Program
Committing to the development of your organization’s culture is a valuable investment – it’s the environment you create for your people. Positive culture attracts talent, drives engagement, impacts happiness, satisfaction and performance and is a catalyst for individual- and organization-level change. Successful employee wellness programs are coordinated and comprehensive; utilizing programs, policies, benefits, environmental supports and links to the surrounding community.
BCHD’s “WorkWell to LiveWell” employee wellness program works with employers to create healthier work environments and empower employees to lead happier, healthier and more productive lives. The “WorkWell to LiveWell” program is a unique, holistic model that links five essential elements of well-being (Purpose, Social, Financial, Physical and Community) to address all aspects of employee health and well-being.
The comprehensive program components include:
Biometric Screen: A biometric screen is a quick health examination that determines your overall health and risk levels of certain medical conditions.
Health Risk Assessment: The health risk assessment (HRA) is a health questionnaire, used to provide individuals with an evaluation of their health risks and quality of life.
Wellness Challenges: Time-limited wellness challenges offer employees the opportunity to learn about and practice healthy behaviors by completing specific wellness activities to earn points towards a prize.
Wellness Portal: The wellness portal is an all-in-one corporate wellness platform, to manage all aspects of the wellness program such as scheduling the biometric screen, completing the HRA, participating in challenges (e.g., tracking activities) and registering for events.
Program Evaluation: Pre- and post-program evaluation to measure progress, modify and expand programming based on your employees’ needs.
