Bus-loads of elementary school students hit the sidewalks throughout the Beach Cities of Hermosa, Manhattan and Redondo Beach in honor of International Walk to School Day on Oct. 10. However, in the Beach Cites, students walking to school isn’t limited to this special day. Instead, kids and their parents are opting for active transportation each week as part of Beach Cities Health District’s “Walking School Bus” and Walking Wednesdays programs.
