REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (July 23, 2024) – Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is asking residents of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach to take its triennial Community Health Survey to better understand local health needs, which guide its health priorities, programs and service offerings.
The online community- and individual-level questionnaire captures zip code-specific information and unique perspectives of community members regarding their health. This information and specific data indicators will be used to compile BCHD’s 2025-28 Community Health Report, which provides district-specific (Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach) health information.
The survey also guides the selection of BCHD’s Health Priorities, which help determine the health programs and services that will be offered in response to community needs.
“The Community Health Survey provides direct community feedback and helps us engage with our residents, delivering important data to ensure our programs best serve our community,” said BCHD CEO Tom Bakaly. “We are grateful to the many residents who take the time to complete our health survey and help guide our decision-making process to deliver health services that meet their needs.”
BCHD administers the survey and produces its Community Health Report every three years. The report also includes indicators from the United States Census, Gallup National Well-Being Index, California Healthy Kids Survey, California Health Interview Survey, Southern California Association of Governments Reports, and Los Angeles County Health Survey.
Residents are encouraged to complete the survey to ensure their health needs are considered when BCHD determines its health priorities. Please visit https://www.bchd.org/healthsurvey to take the survey. The last day to complete the survey is Friday, August 23. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete.
