Martha B. Koo, M.D., is very excited to be elected to office in 2020. For over twenty years, Dr. Koo has been a Beach Cities’ resident, physician and business owner. She is committed to improving the health of the South Bay residents and environment.
Dr. Koo provides psychoanalytic psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy in her private practice in Manhattan Beach. Believing strongly in holistic medicine and the body and mind’s capacity for self-healing, Dr. Koo founded the Neuro Wellness Spa, where she offers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, IV Ketamine, IV Nutrition and Photobiomodulation for optimal social, emotional, physical, and cognitive health. Additionally, she is the Medical Director at Clear Recovery Center, an intensive outpatient treatment center for individuals struggling with mental health, addiction and dual diagnoses.
Dr. Koo completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, her medical training at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, her psychiatry residency training at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Institute and her psychoanalytic training at the New Center for Psychoanalysis. She is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. In addition to serving on the Board of the BCHD, Dr. Koo is on the Board of the Clinical TMS Society and is an active lecturer at the New Center for Psychoanalysis and the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
Dr. Koo loves spending time with her family and pets. She also enjoys yoga, chess, playing her violin, hiking and long walks on the beach.
