Twenty-three restaurants dished up healthy bites to the hundreds in attendance on March 5th to support local schools
More than 500 Beach Cities residents sank their teeth into delicious food and a good cause at the “Taste of Blue Zones” in March, featuring healthy bites from 23 popular Blue Zones Restaurants including local favorites like Jus’ Poke, Locale 90, Good Stuff and Sacks on the Beach.
The Beach Cities Health District event celebrated the more than 130 Blue Zones Restaurants in the Beach Cities. A Blue Zones Restaurant is an eatery that has successfully optimized its dining experience – though tactics like highlighting nutritious menu items, eliminating deep fryers, removing salt from tables and using smaller plates and glassware – to encourage patrons to make healthier choices.
Proceeds from the event benefited the education foundations of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach. This is part of local restaurants’ ongoing support of education in the Beach Cities. Blue Zones Restaurants also participate in the State of Education, support PTA efforts to promote healthy fundraising and contribute to other school events throughout the year.
