As Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) continues advancing its Healthy Living Campus vision, it will offer the public an opportunity to provide feedback on new design plans for the Center for Health & Fitness (CHF) in the 510 Prospect Avenue building. The fitness center will be moved from its current home in the 514 Building to the new location in time to open in 2027 – the same time the 514 Building is slated to be vacated.

Community Design Open House

BCHD has had numerous meetings with members of the CHF, staff and architects to determine priorities and design options for the new location. On September 30, staff held a Community Design Open House for residents and members to review the preliminary design and provide feedback.

The Design Preview event offered the public a chance to speak directly with CHF staff as well as the architectural design team regarding everything from the types of fitness equipment available in the new space to the color palate and the location of yoga rooms and locker rooms.
