As Beach Cities Health District moves forward with the vision for our Healthy Living Campus, we’re committed to keeping our neighbors informed and involved every step of the way. We know construction can sometimes create disruption, and we want to make it easy for you to stay updated and share any concerns.

Our goal is to work closely with the community throughout the redevelopment process. We will listen, respond, and take practical steps to minimize impacts related to noise, traffic and general construction activity whenever possible.

To support this, we’ve launched a dedicated project information website where neighbors can find construction schedules, upcoming activities and ways to reach us directly. If you have questions or need to report an issue, please fill out the feedback form.

allcove Beach Cities Updates

allcove Beach Cities will be relocating from the 514 N. Prospect building to 1272 Beryl Street lot on BCHD’s campus.

Grading work is complete for the permanent home of allcove Beach Cities, and concrete for the building’s footings has been poured (see photos above). The construction schedule (M–F, 7 a.m.–6 p.m.) has been adjusted to include permitted Saturday work (9 a.m.–5 p.m.) at the site, in accordance with RBMC Section 9-1.12. The allcove Beach Cities building is now scheduled to be completed by May 2027.
Construction Activity: On Saturday, Sept. 26, starting at 9 a.m., concrete will be poured for the allcove building’s footings. In Redondo Beach, construction activity is allowed from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
Construction Activity Week of August 31, 2026: Monday, August 31, soil removal from the allcove Beach Cities job site is continuing in compliance with the Soils Mitigation Plan approved by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. For the safety of our community, laboratory tests were conducted under the supervision of the project’s Environmental Engineer. Those tests confirmed the material is non-hazardous and suitable for disposal at a licensed landfill. The work to haul the dirt away is expected to continue Monday and should be completed by Friday, September 4. Trucks will use the pre-established Project Haul Route to and from the job site.

Center for Health & Fitness Updates

BCHD’s medically accredited fitness center is relocating from the 514 N. Prospect building to the top floor of the 510 N. Prospect building on BCHD’s campus. The new Center for Health & Fitness is coming in early 2027, and we’re excited to continue sharing updates with our members as we move closer to opening.

Work on the new CHF continues with interior renovations on the building’s top floor, and drywall has been installed in many areas. The project is currently on schedule, with the new center expected to open in March 2027.

The new CHF will help us continue supporting active, healthy, and independent lifestyles with updated spaces, equipment and opportunities for connection. Thank you to our members for your continued support, encouragement, and excitement for what’s ahead. Below are photos of the CHF space taken during the first week of August 2026.

The current location will remain open until the move, which is planned for March 2027.

510 Building

Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly – 510 N. Prospect Building (Main Floor)
LA Jewish Health, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) provider, has completed its interior tenant improvements on the main floor of the building. Soon, construction teams will complete additional work in the main entrance area and create a new drop-off location and an ADA-accessible ramp for PACE clients.

This work – expected to be completed in the coming weeks – will include construction noise and traffic rerouting (see map below) on campus during construction. Visitors looking to access the parking structure adjacent to the 510 Prospect building will need to use the main entrance to the campus (at the traffic light), then turn right to access the structure. The south entrance to the structure will be closed while this work is being done.

(Note: The 510 Prospect Avenue building is not owned or operated by Beach Cities Health District. Work was done on the main floor of the 510 building by a contractor hired by the new PACE tenant.)

As part of our PACE partner’s tenant improvements in the 510 Prospect Avenue building, an access ramp – required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) – was constructed, which required the removal of a few trees and surrounding plants. Because this work was necessary for ADA compliance, the City of Redondo Beach does not require replacement tree planting. As plans for the campus are completed, a variety of new trees and plants will be planted.
