The Hermosa Five-O Senior Activity Center opened in May of 2010 and is open to all South Bay Residents who are over the age of 50. Hermosa Five-O Members are a group of fun, active and motivated people, who continually strive to improve their lives and their community.

The City of Manhattan Beach provides a variety of activities and services for older adults including Dial-A-Ride transportation, bus excursions, classes and activities, Older Adults Night on the Town, and Senior Club events. Emphasis is to help seniors establish and maintain healthy and creative life styles that will enable them to remain in their own homes. Major components of programs, services and activities include information and referral, resource guides, special events, clubs and classes at three senior centers, an annual health fair, special needs programs for adults, lunch programs 5 days a week, volunteer opportunities, marketing and advertising, and partnerships and collaborations with local agencies and non profits in the community.
