Disability Community Resource Center

The Disability Community Resource Center (DCRC) formerly Westside Center for Independent Living (WCIL) is dedicated to assisting persons with disabilities and/or older adults achieve and maintain self-directed and community based independent lives via support services and training programs provided by their peers and offered in a non-residential environment. They offer assistive technology services, community transition services, information and referrals, empowerment alliance, personal assistance and placement program, consumer advocacy, and mental health and peer support programs.

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)

The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program helps pay for services provided to low-income elderly, blind or disabled individuals, including children, so that they can remain safely in their own home. IHSS is considered an alternative to out-of-home care, such as nursing homes or board and care facilities. Some of the services that can be authorized through IHSS include: housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services (such as bowel and bladder care, bathing, grooming and paramedical services), accompaniment to medical appointments, and protective supervision for the mentally impaired.

Non-profit agency operating a homecare worker registry, back up attendant program, training program for caregivers and offer classes for clients related to interviewing and screening in-home supportive services workers. Available ONLY for IHSS clients. Extensive criminal background checks and pre-screen on caregivers. Clients can either telephone PASC or complete on-line application to access services.
