Beach Cities Health District Asks Community About Their Health
Residents are Encouraged to Take Beach Cities Health District’s Community Health Survey to Help Guide Health Priorities

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (August 5, 2021) – Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is asking residents of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach to take its Community Health Survey to better understand local health needs, which guide its health priorities, program and service offerings.

The online community- and individual-level questionnaire captures zip code-specific information and unique perspectives of community members regarding their health. This information, along with specific data indicators, will be used to compile BCHD’s 2022-25 Community Health Report, which provides district-specific (Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach) health information.

The survey also guides the selection of BCHD’s Health Priorities, which then helps determine the health programs and services that will be offered in response to community need.

“Obtaining direct community feedback and engaging with our residents is key to ensuring our programs best serve our community,” said Beach Cities Health District CEO Tom Bakaly. “We appreciate residents taking the time to complete our Community Health Survey and what they’ll receive in return is health services that meet their needs.”

BCHD administers the survey and produces its Community Health Report every three years. The report also includes indicators from the United States Census, Gallup National Well-Being Index, California Healthy Kids Survey, Panorama Education Survey, California Health Interview Survey, Southern California Association of Governments Reports and Los Angeles County Health Survey.

Residents are encouraged to fill out the survey to ensure their health needs will be taken into consideration when BCHD determines its health priorities. Please visit https://www.bchd.org/healthsurvey to take the survey. The last day to complete the survey is Monday, August 30 and the survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. BCHD will also have ipads available at its front desks in the following locations for those who cannot complete the survey on their own computer or device:
