Our network of volunteers forms the backbone of Beach Cities Health District (BCHD). Diverse, motivated and talented, BCHD volunteers work in a variety of community-focused programs and play an integral role in improving the health and well-being of Beach Cities residents.

8:30 a.m. Check-in and instructions (Alta Vista Park, 801 Camino Real, Redondo Beach)
9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Volunteer in the school gardens (Various Beach Cities school gardens)

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Beach Cities Volunteer Day in 2024. Over 120 volunteers came together to tend to elementary school gardens in Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. Volunteers helped plant, harvest, weed, and prepare the gardens for the school year as part of BCHD’s LiveWell Kids program. Learn more about the program at bchd.org/youth-programs/livewell-kids.

Volunteer Day is a community-wide initiative led by Beach Cities Health District to promote health, wellness, and connection through service. Local residents, businesses, and organizations come together with a shared goal: to help build a healthier beach community.

How You Can Get Involved

Volunteer

Support the LiveWell Kids Garden and Nutrition Programs by helping prepare elementary school gardens in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach for the upcoming school year. Your time and energy will directly benefit students through hands-on nutrition and garden-based learning.

Become a Sponsor

Help us grow the LiveWell Kids program. Your support funds programming in elementary schools and gives your organization the opportunity to learn healthy habits.
