Blue Zones Project Approved™ Restaurants pledge to make the healthy choice, the easy choice by implementing evidence-backed actions that promote a healthier eating environment.

lil'Vegerie at 800 S. Pacific Coast Hwy. in Redondo Beach is the newest Blue Zones Project Approved Restaurant in the Beach Cities and joins a list of more than 90 restaurants and grocery stores committed to customer well-being.

The eatery opened May 2022 and its vegan menu offers plant-based spins on classic dishes. The Ahi Beet Poke and Mushroom Carne Asada have earned a loyal customer base amongst vegans and non-vegans alike. With options for the whole family, their kid's menu features potato bowls with barbeque jackfruit and chickpea tuna. You can even swap out refined grain options for whole grain options or substitute for extra veggies for any dish on their menu!

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), data shows that chronic illnesses because of poor diet remains a growing public health concern for many Americans.

Jason Cervantes, the owner of lil’Vegerie, shares that their high-quality produce is locally sourced, never fried and flavored with natural ingredients.

“Food is a pathway to longevity. Our menu is about giving more years to people to spend with their families.”

As part of their commitment to Blue Zones Project®, the staff at lil’Vegerie have pledged to a series of activities to better their well-being such as growing a home garden, joining a walking Moai®, having conversations about growing older and more.

When Blue Zones Project Partners take additional steps to integrate Blue Zones® Principles into their own lives and not just our built environment, it encourages everyone in our community to live well.
