Volunteer Spotlight: Core Value Award Recipients
BCHD is fortunate to have a number of volunteers who go above and beyond to truly help us excel in our programs and services. Therefore, Volunteer Services has created the Core Value awards to honor and recognize these individuals who truly embody our core values of Accountability, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.
Thank You for Attending the 14th Annual Volunteer Recognition Brunch
We had a great turnout with over 120 of our volunteers attending! The brunch was packed with good conversations, food, laughter, and awards. Those who volunteered more than 100 hours of service were presented with a volunteer service award from Senator Jenny Oropeza’s office. In addition, our Board of Directors received awards for their dedication to upholding our core values. In honor of our volunteers who embody the spirit of heroism, some of our talented BCHD staff members performed a Super Hero skit for all to enjoy. Our DoWell superheroes PlayWell, LiveWell, HelpWell, and AgeWell informed us what BCHD volunteers do for our community and how they play a vital role by providing many of our services.
Please welcome the first class of MoveWell Volunteers!
Community Care Services is pleased to announce that its newest volunteer program, MoveWell In-Home Exercise Program, had its first training on May 15th. MoveWell is a physician-approved, safe and simple exercise program for our frail beach cities residents to build up their strength to prevent falls and promote a healthier lifestyle. Five volunteers participated and will soon be matched with clients to go into their homes once a week to perform the exercises with them. These volunteers will also call them on the phone once a week to provide motivation and follow-up.
